Edmonton are tipped to cover as they bounce back from their first loss of the season.

The Elks are off to a strong start despite last week’s defeat, and have already beaten winless Ottawa on the road this season.

Key Numbers – Can Elks Record 4th Cover Of Season?

  • Edmonton Elks won 29-21 when the two teams last met on June 6

Ottawa Redblacks Winless After Fourth Defeat

Ottawa head back out on the road still seeking their first win of the season, having now lost four consecutive games.

The Redblacks failed to overcome a slow start as they won just four games and missed out on the playoffs in 2025, and history is threatening to repeat itself in 2026.

They opened up the season at home to Edmonton, and suffered a 29-21 defeat to the Elks before going on an early bye week.

The extra time to prepare for a meeting with Toronto did not result in a victory though, as they were then beaten 44-24 at home by the Argonauts.

The Redblacks now find themselves 0-4, having lost 37-35 in Montreal and 27-22 at home to Saskatchewan.

Edmonton Elks Seeking Fourth Win In Five Games

Edmonton return home looking to rebound from a first defeat of the season that dropped them to 3-1.

The Elks opened the season on the road and enjoyed a winning start as they beat Ottawa 29-21, sending them into an early bye at 1-0.

They picked up from where they left off when they returned to action to down Montreal in overtime, winning 32-29.

Edmonton then made it three-in-a-row as they went out on the road to down the Blue Bombers in Winnipeg, 23-18.

The Elks failed to make it to 4-0 however, as their perfect start was ended by a 36-24 loss at the BC Lions in Week 5.
