Rafael Jodar has been playing plenty of tennis to close in on the Top 10. The teenager has had time to recover after an impressive victory over Denis Shapovalov and can keep his run going against Alejandro Tabilo.

Jodar Close to Top 10
Rafael Jodar has climbed from 165 to 11 in the rankings this year, winning the title in Marrakech and reaching the Barcelona semi-finals.
The Spaniard ended the clay court swing in fine form before a third round exit at Wimbledon. He went deep on his return to hard courts in Washington, beaten by Taylor Fritz in the final.
The 19-year-old overcame a short turnaround in Montreal, getting past Lorenzo Musetti, Jiri Lehecka and Arthur Fils before a narrow semi-final defeat to Brandon Nakashima.
Jodar made a sensational comeback in his opening match in Cincinnati. Down 5-1 in the third set against Denis Shapovalov, he saved a match point on the way to a 7-5 4-6 7-5 victory.
The youngster
commented after the win:
“I had to give it all today to win this match. I’m super happy with how I controlled all my emotions today, especially in the third set. Very happy to get my first win in Cincinnati.”
Tabilo Inconsistent
Alejandro Tabilo returned to the Top 50 in in February after reaching the Rio de Janeiro final. He hardly featured on hard courts and went 0-3 on grass.
The 29-year-old got back on clay where he lost to World No.427 Tiago Torres in his opening match in Estoril.
The Chilean showed some form in Washington, beating Ben Shelton on his way to the semi-finals where he went down in 3 sets to Rafael Jodar. He lost in his opening match in Montreal, beaten 6-4 7-6 by Hubert Hurkacz.
Tabilo got his Cincinnati campaign underway with a 6-3 6-4 win against Jan Lennard Struff, not allowing a break point.
