Poland’s playoff matches were full of goal and action, while their back line conceded two goals to Malta in the final qualifying round. Ukraine have decent scoring potential, so I will back sides to score on Sunday.

Key Stats

  • Poland have seen BTTS & over 2.5 goals in their last 3 matches.
  • Poland beat Ukraine 3-1 in their most recent h2h.

Poland Lead H2H

Poland have a 5-3 advantage against Ukraine with 2 draws in 10 matches.

Poles Were One Win Away From Qualifying for the WC

Poland had a couple of early slipups in the World Cup 2026 qualifiers which didn’t allow them to compete for top spot in Group G against Netherlands, ultimately finishing second with 17 points from eight matches.

The Eagles were behind at half-time of their semifinal playoff clash against Albania at home, but then pulled a comeback with veterans Robert Lewandowski and Piotr Zielinski finding the net to secure a 2-1 win.

In the direct clash for a spot at the World Cup 2026, the Poles were beaten by Sweden 3-2 in Stockholm. They looked solid here, ending the clash with 1.53-1.65 expected goals, 67% possession and 15-9 shots.

Ukraine Coming Off Disappointing Qualifiers

Ukraine’s performances in the World Cup 2026 Qualifiers were underwhelming, claiming just three wins in six matches to finish second in Group D, far behind France.

In the playoff semifinals, the Blue and Yellow were easily beaten by Sweden 3-1, allowing too much space to the opposition while posting just 0.76 xG. The Swedes had 2.38 expected goals and 10 shots.

In their most recent appearance, Ukraine locked horns against Albania in a friendly match and won 1-0 on a neutral venue in Valencia. Oleksey Gutsulyak was the sole scorer in the second half.

They recent appointed Andrea Maldera as the new national coach.
