Macarthur Back Into The Top Six
It's been a wild season for Macarthur as they head into this clash with a 7-7-8 record and in sixth spot on the ladder.
The Bulls started the season strongly, but perhaps juggling continental football caused some fatigue as the team faded in late January.
Macarthur went on an eight-game winless run as they were knocked out of Asia by Bangkok United and tumbled out of the finals spots in the A-League.
However, Mile Sterjovski's side produced a resurgent 2-1 win over second-placed Auckland before the break, with Rafael Durán and Tomislav Uskok's goals sending them back into the top six.
Newcastle Jets Four Points Clear
It's been a dream season for the Jets, who come into this contest four points clear at the top of the ladder, winning 14 of their 22 games.
Newcastle responded brilliantly to their first defeat since Boxing Day against Auckland a couple of weeks ago, scoring a dramatic late winner to conquer Sydney FC 2-1 at Allianz.
Japanese veteran Kota Mizunuma put the Jets in front with a glorious strike in the opening half, but the Jets couldn't hold out Sydney after the break, conceding midway through the second half.
The game appeared destined for a share of the spoils before Xavier Bertoncello made a late dash down the flank, delivering a pinpoint cross for Ben Gibson, who made no mistake with his finish to send the Jets fans into euphoric celebrations.
