Adelaide United vs Auckland FC Preview

Adelaide are unbeaten in 10 of their last 11 games and are back into the top four. They are always tough to beat at Coopers and I'm taking the Reds in the Double Chance market as the best bet.

There is also good value on a share of the spoils, with the Reds drawing three of their last four games - all by 1-1 scores.
  • Adelaide are unbeaten in 10 of their last 11 games
  • Auckland have failed to win 6 of their last 10 games
  • 2 of the 3 previous meetings have ended in a draw
  • Adelaide have drawn 3 of their last 4 games by 1-1 scores

Adelaide United vs Auckland FC Head To Head

These two sides were involved in thrilling 2-2 and 4-4 draws last season before Auckland claimed a 2-1 victory in Round 3 earlier this season.

Adelaide United Hard To Beat

Adelaide come into this contest with a 10-5-7 record on the season and sitting pretty in fourth spot on the ladder.

Enjoying an eight-point buffer on seventh-placed Central Coast, you'd think the Reds have done just about enough to secure finals football, but with games against the first and second-placed teams to come over the next fortnight, they will be dreaming even bigger.

Register upsets over both Auckland and Newcastle and Adelaide would suddenly be in the minor premiership race - or at the very least, a top two finish would be more than realistic.

Adelaide come into this clash following a 4-2 win over the Western Sydney Wanderers on the road before the break, with Luka Jovanovic scoring a brace. Juan Muniz and Panagiotis Kikianis also got on the scoresheet.

Auckland FC Suffer Premiership Blow

Auckland head into this encounter with a 11-6-5 record on the season and in second spot on the ladder.

Steve Corica's side bid for back-to-back minor premierships took a big blow after they were beaten 2-1 at home by slumping Macarthur in their last game before the international break.

The Black Knights now find themselves trailing leaders Newcastle by four points, despite beating their minor premiership rivals 2-1 a few weeks ago.

Auckland will be gunning for a third away win on the trot after that aforementioned win over the Jets and also a 5-0 thumping of Kiwi rivals Wellington.
