Nuno Borges deserves respect after taking out two seeds but Brandon Nakashima is in career best form. I am sticking with the American who is on his way to a third straight semi-final.

Borges 6-1 on the Hard Court Swing
Nuno Borges dropped out of the Top 50 on five occasions this year, highlighting his inability to take the next step in his career.
The 29-year-old found some form in Montreal, beating Tomas Martin Etcheverry on his way to the fourth round where he went down in 3 sets to Luciano Darderi.
Borges was three points away from defeat in the first round in Cincinnati, holding it together to defeat Thanasi Kokkinakis 5-7 7-6 7-6. He hasn’t dropped a set since, beating Francisco Cerundolo 6-4 6-4 and Andrey Rublev 6-3 6-4.
Brandon Nakashima hired coach Wayne Ferreira before the Washington Open and saw immediate results. He beat two seeds on his way to the semi-finals where he lost in 3 sets to Taylor Fritz.
The American went one better in Montreal, beating Rafael Jodar on his way to the final. He went close against Ben Shelton, going down 6-3 7-6.
Nakashima had no problems in his opening match in Cincinnati, giving up one break point in a 6-2 7-5 victory over Aleksandar Kovacevic. He saved three match points against Daniil Medvedev in the third round, coming home strong to win 6-7 7-6 6-1.
