Joao Fonseca showed some form to end the hard court swing, going down to Jannik Sinner in Indian Wells and Carlos Alcaraz in Miami.
The 19-year-old started the clay court swing in Monte Carlo, going down to Alexander Zverev in the quarter-finals. He fell to Ben Shelton in the Munich quarter-finals before early exits in Madrid and Rome.
