Benjamin Bonzi has turned on the style in Winston Salem, allowing only one break point since the second round.

Ignacio Buse is proving he can compete on hard courts, but I am backing Bonzi to maintain his strong serving percentages and get through.

This will be the first match between Ignacio Buse and Benjamin Bonzi.

Buse Improving on Hard Courts

Ignacio Buse broke into the Top 50 in May after winning the Hamburg Open as a qualifier.

The Peruvian went 0-2 on his return to hard courts, beaten 6-3 6-3 by Cameron Norrie in Montreal and 6-4 6-3 by Adam Walton in Cincinnati.

The 22-year-old met Walton again in his opening match in Winston Salem and made amends, defeating the Australian 6-2 5-7 6-3. He then beat Daniel Altmaier 7-6 7-5 and got past Juan Manuel Cerundolo 7-6 4-6 6-2, saving 6/11 break points against the Argentinian.

Buse has improved his hard court record to 26-21 and is now 5-5 against Top 100 players.

Bonzi Serving Strong in Winston Salem

Benjamin Bonzi dropped to World No.131 in February but has caught fire in Winston Salem.

The Frenchman got past Kamil Majchrzak 6-4 7-6 and Quentin Halys 2-6 7-6 6-3, saving a combined 5/10 break points. He destroyed Rinky Hijikata 6-1 6-1 in 57 minutes, winning 96% of his 1st serves.

Bonzi was far too good for Botic van de Zandschulp in the quarter-finals despite the 7-6 6-4 score line. He won 56% of his 2nd serves and allowed only one break point, forcing 13 from the Dutchman.
