Arthur Fery rose from 114 to 37 in the rankings after an improbably run at Wimbledon. I think the odds are too short on the Brit here, Cruz Hewitt to keep it close in Winston Salem.

This will be the first match between Cruz Hewitt and Arthur Fery.

Fery Big Riser at Wimbledon

Arthur Fils hardly made a dent on the ATP Tour before going on a deep run at Wimbledon.

Entering the event as a wild card, the 24-year-old beat Zizou Bergs, Grigor Dimitrov and Flavio Cobolli on his way to the semi-finals where he lost in straight sets to Alexander Zverev.

The Brit has been seen once since, in Cincinnati where he edged past James Duckworth 6-4 2-6 7-6 before a 7-5 7-6 defeat to Alex de Minaur.

Second ATP Event for Hewitt

Cruz Hewitt has been learning his trade on the lower circuits, losing the M15 Wodonga final in March before reaching semi-finals in Swan Hill and Singapore.

The 17-year-old competed in his first ATP Tour event in Washington after scraping through the qualifiers. He beat Marcos Giron 6-3 6-4 before going down 6-2 6-3 to top seed Alex de Minaur.

Hewitt beat lucky loser Sebastian Gorzny 1-6 7-6 6-4 in Winston Salem, coming back after winning just 39% of the points in the first set.
