Wests Tigers vs Dolphins NRL Betting Tips - Phins attack to be too good in Round 16

  • Dolphins have won 6 straight, averaging 37 points per game and allowing just 13.
  • Wests struggle defensively, making Dolphins -6.5 and under 22.5 for Tigers solid bets.
  • Herbie Farnworth is in great try-scoring form - back him for an anytime try.

Wests Tigers vs Dolphins Verdict

The Dolphins have won six in a row and are tipped make that seven straight. The attack of the Phins is among the best in the league and I don't see Wests Tigers stopping them, making a -6.5 line the best value.

  • The Dolphins are on a 6 game win streak and have beaten 3 top 9 teams in the process.
  • Wests have scored just 13 pts per game in their losses this season, Dolphins have allowed just 13 pts per game through their 6 game win streak.
  • Herbie Farnworth scored in the most recent matchup vs Wests and has scored in 2 of his last 3 games.
  • 5 of the Dolphins last 6 victories have been by 13+ pts.

Head to Head

These teams have met four times since 2023 with things even at 2-2. The Tigers won the most recent meeting 30-18 in 2025.

All four games have gone Under the Game Total while the Dolphins have covered 3-1 across the span.

Wests Tigers Form - Mixed Bag From Wests

The Tigers bounced back from their drubbing in Round 14 with a 36-28 victory over the Gold Coast Titans last weekend, but it was far from smooth sailing. Wests went up 12-0 but then allowed four unanswered tries.

Jarome Luai then took over the game, scoring three of the Tigers last four tries to put the result to bed. Once again Wests completed at a high rate, this time reaching 90%. On the season they average 79.9%, the 6th best number in the NRL.

The error rate was kept low as were missed tackles which helped them along, yet still allowing 28 pts is not something the Tigers would want with finals aspirations.

Dolphins Form - Six And Counting

The Dolphins are the hottest team in the NRL right now, securing their sixth straight win last weekend with a 48-10 victory over the Sydney Roosters.

Both teams had a number of players out due to Origin but the Dolphins had no trouble clicking in attack as they piled on the points.

The score was just 12-0 at halftime but then ballooned in the 2nd half as the Roosters tired and the momentum came like a freight train.

The Dolphins have scored an average of 37 points through their six-game win streak while they are allowing just 13 points per game to their opponents in the same stretch.
