North Queensland Cowboys vs Parramatta Eels Tips

The Cowboys will add more misery to the Eels season as they take their seventh victory in 8 matches, covering as the 8.5- point favourite.

North Queensland have been one of the surprises of the season winning 6 of their last 7 matches and sitting 6th on the ladder, getting positive results on the back of their electric attack, led by the in-form Scott Drinkwater.

The Eels are where many expected in 15th, unable to patch themselves from their injury concerns and have more holes in their defensive line than the crumpets I ate for breakfast.

This one is simple, it comes down to an electric attack against a leaking defence. The Cowboys are scoring points while the Eels can’t stop the flood on their own line, especially on their right-hand side.

The Eels might keep up with the Cowboys for a while but the barrage of 4-pointers will come for North Queensland as they score over 30.5 points in the match. The left-side attack will feature for the Cowboys and Jaxon Purdue will break his three-game scoring drought as the best valued outside back for North Queensland playing at left centre.

  • The Cowboys have won 6 of their last 7 matches by an average margin of 13.7.
  • The Cowboys average 33.1 points in their 6 victories this season.
  • Parramatta concedes an average of 35 points per game.
  • Parramatta concedes 40% of their tries on the right side of their defence.

Head to Head

Parramatta have won the last two matches against North Queensland in 2024 and 2025, with both matches being played at CommBank Stadium. In 2023, the last time the Cowboys and Eels met at QCB Stadium Northerners won 24-16.

5 of the last 7 matches between the Cowboys and Eels has hit under the game total.

North QLD Cowboys Form Analysis

The Cows are rolling at the moment with 6 wins from their last 7 matches with a blowout against Manly their only blemish since Round 3.

North Queensland's attack has been consistent, scoring 28 points or more in all of their victories with the steady combination of Tom Dearden and Jake Clifford steering the team around the park.

While the halves combination has been dictating the play it is the form of fullback Scott Drinkwater that has opened things up for the Cowboys with the soon to be Dragon second in the league with 10 try assists and tied first with 13 line break assists going along nicely with the 6 tries he has to his name in 2026.

Parramatta Eels Form Analysis

It has been another tough start to the season in Parramatta winning just 3 games all season with their defensive line parting like the red sea for their opponents.

The Eels have allowed an average of 35 points per game this season giving up 30+ points in 6 of their nine matches and conceding 52 points not just once but twice against the Titans and Melbourne. Injuries to their outside backs has caused all sorts of headaches for Jason Ryles who has been unable to find any stable and trustworthy connections on the edges.

The biggest concern is obviously the defensive line, however, besides Josh Addo-Carr, the Eels don’t have any natural finishers either and have struggled to put up points against any half decent defence they have come up against.
