Ohio State are tipped to cover as they beat the defending national champions on the road.

Indiana may be unbeaten, but they were pushed to the limit by Northwestern and survived a scare to edge past Nebraska last week.

The defense remains rock solid, but the Buckeyes offense has the talent to do some damage here, while their own defense makes the stops needed to get the job done.

Key Numbers – Can Buckeyes Go 6-1 This Season?

  • Ohio State have won 5 of their 6 games so far
  • Ohio State covered in their 2 previous road games
  • Indiana have failed to cover in 5 of their 6 games
  • These two defenses are allowing a combined 27.4 points per game

  • Ohio State lead the all-time series 81-13-5
  • Indiana won 13-10 when the two teams last met in December 2025

Ohio State Riding Four-Game Win Streak

Ohio State head out on the road having rebounded from the defeat in Texas with four straight wins to reach 5-1.

The Buckeyes opened the season with a 56-3 blowout of an overmatched Ball State team, but failed to follow that up a week later as they were narrowly beaten 24-23 at Texas.

They issued an immediate response though, crushing Kent State 59-3, and have backed that up with three straight wins in Big Ten action.

Ohio State kicked off their conference campaign with a 42-19 victory over Illinois, and then travelled to Iowa where they recorded a 31-14 win against the Hawkeyes.

The Buckeyes then made it four-in-a-row – and went 3-0 in the Big Ten – by downing Maryland 45-16 last weekend.

Indiana Unbeaten After Six Games

Defending national champions Indiana enter this matchup having survived a scare to maintain their perfect record.

The Hoosiers kicked off their defence of the national crown with three consecutive blowout wins over non-conference opposition.

They dominated North Texas in a 42-16 victory, and backed that up with shutout successes against both Howard, 55-0, and Western Kentucky, 38-0.

Indiana then began their Big Ten slate with a hard-earned 29-23 win over Northwestern, before beating Rutgers 47-15 on the road.

The Hoosiers made it three-in-a-row in the conference – and 6-0 overall – as they came from behind to win 20-17 in Nebraska last time out.

Verdict

Going against the national champions at home is a risky proposition, but we like what we have seen from Ohio State so far.

Indiana are winning games, but it would not be unfair to say that they have underwhelmed in a couple of their Big Ten games so far.

The Buckeyes do not have the holes that Northwestern and Nebraska have, so we are backing Ryan Day’s men to take this crucial conference clash.
