Spartak Moscow vs SKA St Petersburg Prediction & Betting Tips - KHL 2026-27

Under 5.5 goals and SKA +1.5 are the best bets, with Ivan Fedotov’s 94% save percentage supporting a lower-scoring contest and unbeaten SKA expected to remain competitive despite playing on consecutive nights.

Fedotov has stopped 47 of the 50 shots he has faced across Spartak’s opening two games. The former Philadelphia Flyers goalie conceded only once against Torpedo before producing another strong performance in the 3-2 win over CSKA.

SKA are 3-0, but their schedule provides the strongest argument against backing them outright. Igor Larionov’s side beat Lada 2-1 in overtime on Wednesday night and must now travel to Moscow for their first away game less than 24 hours later.

That turnaround could limit SKA’s attacking intensity, particularly after Wednesday’s game remained scoreless until the 38th minute. However, Nikolai Goldobin has already produced seven assists, while Sergei Plotnikov has three goals and two assists, giving the visitors enough quality to stay within one goal.

Special teams also favour a controlled game. Spartak are yet to score on the power play and conceded once while shorthanded against CSKA. SKA converted a power play just three seconds after it began in their 5-3 win over Dynamo Moscow, but failed to capitalise on their opportunity against Lada.

  • Ivan Fedotov has stopped 47 of 50 shots for a 94% save percentage.
  • Both Spartak games have finished under 5.5 goals.
  • Four of the last six meetings between the teams have stayed under 5.5.
  • SKA are 3-0, but two of those victories required overtime.

Spartak Moscow Form

Spartak recovered from a 1-0 opening defeat against Torpedo by beating CSKA 3-2 in the Moscow derby. Their opening performance lacked attacking sharpness, and they managed only two shots on goal during the first period against CSKA, but Ilya Kotlyarov, Christian Jaros and Maxim Comtois all scored in the comeback victory.

Fedotov has been the constant across both games. He allowed only Sergei Skvortsov’s late first-period goal against Torpedo and then frustrated CSKA despite the hosts creating repeated chances down the left side. Spartak’s penalty kill conceded to Dmitry Buchelnikov in the first period but successfully handled CSKA’s later power-play pressure.

SKA St Petersburg Form

SKA have beaten Lada twice in overtime and defeated Dynamo Moscow 5-3, scoring 11 goals across their perfect 3-0 start. Goldobin leads the attack with seven assists, while Plotnikov has recorded three goals and two assists.

Their latest win was far more defensive. Sergei Ivanov allowed only one goal against Lada, with SKA trailing until Danil Aimurzin equalised in the third period before Egor Savikov scored just 15 seconds into overtime.

The concern is recovery rather than form. SKA completed a physical overtime game on Wednesday night and must immediately travel for their first road fixture. That makes another close contest more likely, but their 27 wins from 36 previous away meetings against Spartak support the +1.5 puck line
