Western Sydney Wanderers vs Melbourne Victory Preview

Western Sydney Wanderers have already landed the wooden spoon and I'm tipping their season ends with another loss. Melbourne Victory can head into the finals on the back of a win.
  • Wanderers have lost their last four games
  • Victory's last four wins have seen BTTS land
  • Wanderers have scored in six of their last eight defeats
  • Victory's last two wins have been by 4-1 scores
  • Charles Nduka has scored four goals in his last six games, including a double last week vs Jets

WS Wanderers vs Melbourne Victory Head To Head

Victory have won just one of the last five meetings, with the Wanderers recording a shock 1-0 upset back in Round 12 courtesy of a Kosta Barbarouses penalty in the 29th minute.

Western Sydney Wanderers Form - Sorry Season To End

It's been a horror season, with the club winning just five games and collecting the wooden spoon for the first time in the club's history.

The Wanderers are currently five points adrift of Brisbane in 11th heading into the final round of the season, with the side losing their last four games.

Brandon Borrello was on target for the Wanderers last week, but it wasn't enough as the team suffered a 2-1 loss across the Tasman to Wellington.

Melbourne Victory Form - Finals Bound

Victory have secured finals football, but it hasn't been the best end to the regular season, with the entire campaign marred by their usual inconsistency.

Equipped with arguably the best roster in the competition, Victory continue to stumble at various stages and have blown 2-1 leads late into games two weeks in a row.

That's something Arthur Diles will want to fix heading into the finals, where those mishaps will be punished.

Victory were on course for a good win over leaders Newcastle last week, but conceded a late penalty and had to settle for a 2-2 draw. Japanese striker Charles Nduka bagged a brace, taking his season-tally to five goals since joining Victory in Feburary.
