Sporting CP have a 100-37 advantage against Braga alongside 28 draws. The previous three encounters ended in draws.

Braga Hard to Beat

Braga went unbeaten in their opening nine games this season. Six of those came in the Conference League qualifiers where they didn’t concede a goal.

The Warriors suffered their first defeat at Estrela da Amadora. Gabri Martínez opened the scoring in the 5th minute but they couldn’t close it out, losing 2-1 in a close contest.

Jonas Wind scored a late goal as Carlos Vicens’ side beat Estoril 1-0. Braga drew 0-0 at Santa Clara before the international break, ending with 0.74-1.24 xG in the Azores.

Clean Sheets Rare for Sporting

Sporting are yet to lose in eight games this season and went on a five match winning run. They have had some defensive issues, conceding nine goals and keeping only two clean sheets.

The Lions fell behind early against Galatasaray in their only clash in the Champions League. They turned it around in style with Geny Catamo, Luis Suárez and Rodrigo Zalazar scoring to secure a 3-1 victory.

Suárez converted a late penalty at Famalicão and the hosts were reduced to 10 men, Gonçalo Inácio’s added time own goal seeing the contest end in a 1-1 draw.

Rui Borges’ side threw away another lead before the international break, drawing 2-2 against Arouca. Goals to Inácio and Suárez scored to establish a 2-0 lead before Zeno Debast was sent off, Sporting unable to hold on in Lisbon.

Predicted Lineups & Team News

Braga (3-4-3) Bernardo Fontes; Adrian Barisic, Vitor Carvalho, Bright Arrey-Mbi; Víctor Gómez, Gorby Baptiste, João Moutinho, Gabri Martínez; Ricardo Horta, Jovan Milosevic, Pau Victor

Sikou Niakaté remains out with an achilles injury but Bright Arrey-Mbi could return to the starting side.

Vicens said: "We trained with everyone except Niakaté. Otherwise, everyone is available to face Sporting."

Sporting CP (4-2-3-1) Rui Silva; Iván Fresneda, Eduardo Quaresma, Gonçalo Inácio, Maxi Araújo; Sergi Altimira, Issa Doumbia; Geny Catamo, Rodrigo Zalazar, Nestory Irankunda; Luis Suárez

Nuno Santos, Georgios Vagiannidis and João Simões are all close to returning from injury. Zeno Debast is suspended with Eduardo Quaresma to start in central defence.

Borges confirmed that Ibrahima Ba has recovered: "Ba is available and has been called up, he's training normally. The break was good for Ba. Otherwise, we have 4 players left to train."

Maxi Araújo, Rodrigo Zalazar and Luis Suárez are coming back from international duty in South America. The manager discussed the possibility of all three starting: "They are prepared to play, that's for sure. There are decisions to be made on match day because we haven't yet been able to train with the whole group."

"We'll rely more on video and feel them out on the day itself to understand how they are and the best way to approach a great team. Above all, I feel they are motivated, especially since almost all of them, or all of them, have performed well for their national teams."
