Brighton vs Leeds Preview

Brighton have started the new campaign in hard-to-beat form and Leeds are on a long unbeaten run. There is value on a Premier League stalemate at the Amex.

Leeds Unbeaten in 8

  • Brighton are unbeaten in 6 of their last 7 games.
  • Brighton have drawn 3 of their last 6 matches against Leeds.
  • Leeds are unbeaten in 8 consecutive matches.

H2H - Even Record

Brighton have a 20-19 advantage against Leeds, alongside 14 draws.

Brighton Clicking in the New Season

Fabian Hurzeler’s Brighton have been hard to beat recently and are undefeated in six of their last seven. The Sussex outfit have won four consecutive home games in that spell.

Brighton began the 2026/27 campaign with a 0-0 draw at Tromso in the Conference League. The Seagulls replied with back-to-back 4-0 home victories against Aston Villa and Tromso.

Hurzeler’s side lost their first game of the season following a 4-3 defeat at Chelsea. Brighton had 74% possession, 1.4 XG and goals from Malick Yalcouye and Pascal Gross couldn’t prevent the defeat.

Leeds in Excellent Long-Term EPL Form

Leeds don’t lose many games and have avoided defeat in 18 of their last 21 in all competitions.

The Whites impressed in pre-season, defeating Sunderland 1-0, Liverpool 4-2, Leipzig 2-0 and Augsburg 4-0.

Daniel Farke’s outfit also won their opening two matches of the new campaign. Leeds beat Nottingham Forest away 2-0 in the Premier League and 1-0 in the EFL Cup.

The Yorkshire team extended their unbeaten run to eight consecutive matches and drew 1-1 against Brentford at home. Leeds conceded first, replied with 1.46 XG and Dominic Calvert-Lewin equalised in the 79th minute.

Predicted Starting Lineups & Team News

Brighton (4-2-3-1): Bart Verbruggen; Costinha, Luka Vuskovic, Lewis Dunk, Ferdi Kadioglu; Pascal Gross, Yasin Ayari; Diego Gomez, Malick Yalcouye, Maxim De Cuyper; Charalampos Kostoulas

Midfielder Jack Hinshelwood and forward Georginio Rutter are injury doubts.

Attackers Yankuba Minteh, Stefanos Tzimas, Karou Mitoma and Evan Ferguson are ruled out.

Yasin Ayari is expected to return after missing the Chelsea game. Fabian Hurzeler issued an update on the midfielder and said, “He could finish the game against Tromso, so hopefully it's not that bad.”

Leeds (3-4-2-1): James Trafford; Nico Elvedi, Jaka Bijol, Tarik Muharemovic; Jayden Bogle, Ethan Ampadu, Anton Stach, James Justin; Brenden Aaronson, Noah Okafor; Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Forward Mateo Joseph is unavailable due to a knee problem.

Midfielder Ilia Gruev and defender Joe Rodon are injured and won't feature at Brighton. Danuel Farke confirmed that Rondon is expected to miss “eight to 10 weeks”.
