2026 FIFA World Cup Predictions

Who will win the 2026 World Cup? Who will qualify from the groups? We got ChatGPT to predict the result of every game at the finals.

Ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, we decided to see how artificial intelligence rated the chances of every team by asking ChatGPT to predict the result of every single group‑stage match.

The model produced scorelines for all 72 group games and then built out a full 32‑team knockout bracket based on those results.

Here's how it all is predicted to happen!

Group Winners

Based on the simulated results, the twelve nations emerging as group winners include Mexico (Group A), who have familiar conditions in North America, Switzerland (Group B) thanks to organisation and defensive structure and powerhouse Brazil (Group C), who are tipped to win all three matches.

With home advantage and strong support, the USA are predicted to top Group D, Argentina take Group J and Europeans top their groups Germany (Group E), Netherlands (Group F), Belgium (Group G), Spain (Group H), France (Group I), Portugal (Group K) and England (Group L).

Group Qualifiers

With the new 48‑team format, the top two sides in each group qualify automatically, joined by the eight best third‑placed teams.

ChatGPT's predicted results gives us the qualifiers as group runners-up South Korea, Canada, Scotland, Türkiye, Ecuador, Japan, Egypt, Uruguay, Norway, Austria, Colombia and Croatia.

The best third‑place teams are predicted to be Czechia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Morocco, Sweden, Iran, Senegal, Algeria and Ghana.

Knockout Stage Projection

With all 32 qualified teams confirmed, their positions are determined by a combination of group ranking (winners, runners‑up, best third‑place).

It is Spain and England who are predicted to come out of their half of the draw to the final with the Spanish tipped to claim a narrow victory and another world title.
