Chad and Burundi have both lost four of their last five fixtures, which makes this an interesting fixture. I am tipping the hosts to just edge it.

Key Stats - Neither Side Winning Much

  • Chad have lost 4 of their last 5 fixtures.
  • Chad have scored 6 goals in 5 games.
  • Chad have conceded 12 goals in 5 matches.
  • Burundi have lost 4 of their last 5 fixtures.
  • Burundi have scored 0 goals in 5 games.
  • Burundi have conceded 6 goals in 5 matches.

First-ever Match

Chad and Burundi meet for the first time in a competitive match.

Chad Looking to turn their Form around

Chad faced Uganda and Mozambique in two international friendlies last November, losing 2-1 and drawing 2-2.

Before that, Chad drew 1-1 with Ghana, lost 3-1 to Madagascar, 2-0 to Mali, and 3-2 to the Central African Republic in four FIFA World Cup qualifiers between September and October.

Les Sao have lost four of their last five fixtures, with one draw. They scored six goals and conceded 12.

Chad have failed to win a match in their last 20 outings; however, they have shown some improvement lately by scoring goals, which gives them the edge over Burundi in their first-leg Africa Cup of Nations preliminary round qualifier.

Burundi Lack of Goals a Concern

Burundi recorded four consecutive defeats in their FIFA World Cup qualifiers played between September and October last year.

They lost 1-0 to the Ivory Coast, 2-0 to Gambia, 1-0 to Togo, and 2-0 to Gabon.

The Swallows have lost four of their last five fixtures, with one draw. They scored zero goals and conceded six.

Burundi are winless in their last five matches, and they have failed to score a goal during that period, which is a cause for concern. However, Chad are on a lengthy run without a victory.
