Match Preview
Poland look unstoppable after winning eight consecutive VNL 2026 matches, but this could be their toughest challenge in months as they face an in-form USA side in Chicago.
USA Looking to Bounce Back
USA have been consistent throughout the Volleyball Nations League 2026 season and have already secured a place in the final tournament, entering the final round in fourth place with an 8-3 record.
The Stars and Stripes enjoyed a strong Week 2, recording back-to-back straight-set victories over Cuba and Iran before suffering a narrow 3-2 defeat to table leaders Japan. They responded by beating Serbia 3-1 in their final June outing.
The Americans carried that momentum into Week 3 with convincing 3-0 victories over China and Brazil, but their winning streak came to an end last night when they were surprisingly beaten 3-1 by Bulgaria in front of the home crowd.
Poland Extending Their Dominance
Poland are the reigning Nations League champions and have continued their outstanding form in 2026, entering the final round in third place with a 9-2 record.
Both of their defeats came in five-set battles against Slovenia and Japan in mid-June, but the Poles responded brilliantly with consecutive victories over Ukraine (3-2), Belgium (3-2), Turkey (3-2), Germany (3-1) and Argentina (3-1).
The reigning champions have also looked impressive in Week 3, opening with a dominant 3-0 victory over Bulgaria before defeating another serious Top 7 contender, Brazil, in straight sets. Poland were tested by France yesterday but still came away with a 3-1 victory.
