France Need a Good Run in Week 3
France will likely need at least three victories from their remaining four matches to secure a place in the Nations League 2026 final tournament. They currently sit 12th in the standings with a 4-4 record.
After a disappointing Week 1, where they won just one of four matches, France bounced back impressively in Week 2 with three consecutive victories over Iran (3-2), Cuba (3-2) and Serbia (3-0).
They then came agonisingly close to becoming the first team to beat Japan in this year's Nations League, taking the opening two sets before eventually falling 3-2 after a dramatic fourth set that ended 35-33 in Japan's favour.
Brazil Searching for Consistency
Brazil are in a slightly stronger position than their upcoming opponents, having collected five victories from eight Nations League 2026 matches and currently sitting in a group of teams tied for sixth place.
They made a perfect 4-0 start to the campaign by defeating Iran, Belgium, Serbia and Argentina, but their form collapsed in Week 2 with consecutive defeats to Ukraine (3-1), Italy (3-1) and Slovenia (3-0).
Brazil finally ended that losing run in their final June appearance, edging Canada 3-2 in a match full of momentum swings and comebacks.
