Finland had a dream run at the EuroVolley 2026 until yesterday, when they offered some resistance but ultimately lost to the superior France 3-1 in the semifinals, their best result in the nation's history so far.
The Finns were on the edge of elimination in the Round of 16, trailing twice against Greece but finding the strength to complete a comeback and win 3-2 in the tiebreaker.

Slovenia Chasing Another EuroVolley Bronze
Slovenia reached the EuroVolley semifinals for the second time in a row and once again fell to arguably the most dominant team in years, Poland, 3-0 yesterday, and now hope to claim a second consecutive bronze.
The Little Dragons had zero problems in the Round of 16 against neighboring Serbia, winning in straight sets while allowing just 49 points to the opposition, arguably their best performance at the EuroVolley 2026 so far.
Belgium in the quarterfinals was slightly more challenging. Slovenia edged the opening two sets with the same scoreline, 25-22, lost the third, but then crushed the opposition in the fourth 25-13 to make it to their second consecutive EuroVolley semifinals.
