The inaugural Athens Open makes its debut on the WTA Tour from July 13 to July 19, 2026. The WTA 250 event will be played on outdoor hard courts at the Athens Olympic Tennis Centre, marking the tour's return to the Greek capital for the first time in 35 years. 

The tournament replaces the Jiangxi Open on the WTA calendar and gives players another hard-court opportunity before the North American swing gathers pace. As the first edition of the event, a new champion will be crowned in Athens.
