Kamilla Rakhimova Aims to End Her Tour-Level Struggles
Kamilla Rakhimova registered a confidence-boosting result in Toronto a few weeks ago by reaching the third round. However, she failed to build on that performance, suffering a second-round exit in Cincinnati and a qualifying defeat in Monterrey in the following weeks.
She has played 21 events this year and, apart from her run in Toronto, has failed to win multiple main-draw matches at any other event, highlighting her significant struggles at this level.
This is her sixth main-draw appearance at the US Open, where she holds a 2-3 record in opening-round matches. Her best result came during her debut in 2021, when she reached the third round.

Krejcikova Looks to Put Recent Setbacks Behind Her
Barbora Krejcikova suffered back-to-back opening-round exits in recent weeks, losing to Liudmila Samsonova in Toronto and Sara Bejlek in Cincinnati. She will now be looking to bounce back and make a deep run this week.
Despite those recent early exits, the Czech has produced some impressive results this year. Since returning from injury in May, she has reached the final at the WTA 125 event in Parma and in 's-Hertogenbosch, won the title in Athens, reached the fourth round at Wimbledon and the semifinals in Prague.
She has played the US Open five times before and cleared the opening-round hurdle in four of those appearances, notably reaching the quarterfinals in 2021 and 2025.
