Lucky Gorzny into First ATP Tour Event

Sebastian Gorzny has played just 44 career matches, going 22-22. His best result came at a M25 event in Wichita where he reached the final.

The 22-year-old will be competing in his first main draw match at an ATP event after getting through as a lucky loser in Winston Salem. He beat Marc Polmans 6-2 1-6 6-2 in the first qualifier despite winning only 24% of his 2nd serves.

Cruz Hewitt lost the M15 Wodonga final in March before reaching two semi-finals at that level. He has climbed from 789 to 376 in the rankings.

The 17-year-old competed in his first ATP Tour event in Washington after both of his opponents retired in the qualifiers. He beat Marcos Giron 6-3 6-4 in the first round before going down 6-2 6-3 to top seed Alex de Minaur.

Hewitt was last seen at a M25 event in Southaven, getting past Axel Nefve and Leo Vithoontien before a 4-6 6-2 6-3 quarter-final defeat to Clement Chidekh.
