Spaniard Seeks Back-to-Back Strong Weeks
Paula Badosa is coming off a successful campaign at the WTA 125 Bastad event, where she dominated throughout the week to lift the title, her first clay-court title in five years.
The result was much needed for the Spaniard, who had struggled for consistency and confidence in recent months. Before her Bastad title run, she had failed to win a match in five of her previous six tournaments.

Ukrainian Looks to Rediscover Clay Form
Anhelina Kalinina ended her grass swing on a disappointing note, playing three events and winning only one main-draw match, against Daria Snigur in the opening round of Eastbourne.
The Ukrainian was ranked outside the top 200 in February, but an impressive clay-court season lifted her back into the top 60. She reached four consecutive WTA 125 finals and also translated that form to the main tour by reaching the third round in Madrid and the final in Rabat.
This is Kalinina's debut appearance in Iasi, and she will be looking to rediscover her clay-court momentum this week.
