Novak Djokovic has lost three matches in a row and comes to China outside the Top 10. The Serbian has gone the distance in his previous four matches, so I am siding with Nuno Borges in Beijing.

Borges Up and Down in 2026

Nuno Borges fell out of the Top 50 on five occasions this year, his best result coming in a semi-final appearance in Mallorca.

The 29-year-old found some form before the US Open, reaching the fourth rounds in Montreal and Cincinnati. Both defeats came in 3 sets against Top 25 players.

Borges went out in the first round in New York, beaten 6-4 6-1 6-2 by Learner Tien. He played once for Portugal at the Davis Cup, defeating Diego Duran 6-2 6-1.

Djokovic Facing Four Straight Defeats

Novak Djokovic continues to fight father time but appears to be losing the battle. He has dropped out of the Top 10 for the first time since 2018.

The 39-year-old blew a two set lead against Joao Fonseca in the French Open third round. He got to the Wimbledon semi-finals where he suffered a straight sets defeat to Jannik Sinner.

It was the start of a three match losing streak, the Serbian beaten by Thiago Agustin Tirante in his opening match in Cincinnati. He went out in the first round at the US Open after a 5 sets defeat to Mariano Navone.
