Both players have enjoyed impressive runs in Sao Paulo, but Podoroska’s recent resurgence and three notable wins make her an appealing option in the final.

Quevedo Reaches First Tour-Level Final
Kaitlin Quevedo defeated Anna Blinkova in three sets to book her place in the final in Sao Paulo, winning 6-4, 2-6, 6-4. Despite the victory, her serve was not particularly efficient, as she won only 55% of first-serve points, hit seven double faults and lost her serve four times during the match.
It is an impressive result for the 20-year-old, who had not registered multiple main-draw wins on tour before this campaign. She had won only four matches on tour before this week, all coming this year, showing her steady rise at this level.
She has posted five quarterfinal-or-better results at WTA 125 level this year, including her biggest final in WTA 125 Targu Mures, where she lost to Laura Samson from a set up. With this run, she will achieve a career-high ranking next week and is now looking to win her first tour title.

Podoroska Ends Semifinal Drought
Nadia Podoroska eliminated second seed Paula Badosa in straight sets to book her place in the final in Sao Paulo, winning 6-3, 6-4. Despite struggling with her serve, she never trailed at any stage and won the crucial points to seal the match.
With this run, she snapped her four-match losing streak in tour-level semifinals and also became the first Argentine to reach a WTA final since Paula Ormaechea did so in 2013 in Bogota.
The 29-year-old has struggled with shoulder and hip injuries in recent years. After being sidelined for more than a year, she made her return only in April and played on the ITF circuit, where she won a couple of titles before returning to the tour.
She was unranked in April, but with steady results across all formats, along with this run, she will return to the top 200 in the rankings in the coming week and is now looking to win the title.
