  • She has a 4–7 record against Top 100 players in 2026.

Darja Vidmanova Targets Another Main-Draw Win

Darja Vidmanova secured her main-draw spot after defeating Caroline Werner and Panna Udvardy in the qualifying rounds earlier this week. She will now look to carry that qualifying momentum into her Monterrey debut and make an impact.

She recently registered a breakthrough result on tour by reaching her maiden tour-level final in Memphis, where she lost to Kristina Mladenovic. That run boosted her confidence at this level and also helped her make her Top 100 debut last month.

She has made eight main-draw appearances on tour and failed to win a match in six of them. Her only previous tour-level appearance in Mexico came in Guadalajara last year, where she reached the second round.

Birrell Aims to Break Her Recent Slump

Kimberly Birrell's struggles on tour have continued since March. The Australian has found it difficult to rediscover her form and has suffered several early exits in recent months.

The 28-year-old has played 11 events since March, with eight of those campaigns ending without a main-draw win, highlighting her difficulties during this period.

Before this slump, she produced encouraging results earlier this year, reaching the semifinals in Austin and Adelaide, along with the semifinal at the WTA 125 event in Austin. She also registered main-draw wins in Dubai and Indian Wells.
