Alexander Zverev Former champion, world No. 3 and the top seed, Zverev naturally heads the list of players to watch. However, his recent momentum hit a roadblock with a poor opening-round exit in Montreal. He will need to quickly rediscover his best level if he is to make a deep run in Cincinnati.
Novak Djokovic
The most successful player in Masters 1000 history, Djokovic is a two-time Cincinnati champion and is chasing his first Masters title since Paris 2023. With Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz absent, there may not be a better opportunity for the Serbian to finally end that drought.
Rafael Jodar
Jodar has emerged as one of the most exciting young players on tour and is certainly a player to watch. However, I do not see him making a major impact in Cincinnati, with fatigue likely to catch up after two gruelling campaigns in Washington and Montreal. An early exit could be on the cards.
Daniil Medvedev
Medvedev is a proven hard-court Masters specialist with a fantastic record on North American hard courts and a former Cincinnati champion. His current form, however, is a major concern. If he can rediscover his confidence and consistency, he has the game to make a deep run, but his recent performances make him difficult to trust.
