Arthur Fils is getting back to his best and Frances Tiafoe is a former finalist in Cincinnati. I think the final will go the distance, Fils to emerge victorious.

Fils Returns to Top 20

Arthur Fils lost to Carlos Alcaraz in the Qatar Open final, reached the Miami semi-finals and won the title in Barcelona. He appeared to be over his injury issues following a semi-final run in Madrid where he lost to Jannik Sinner.

The 22-year-old suffered a hip injury that forced him to miss the French Open. He took a month off after a second round exit at Wimbledon before two defeats to Rafael Jodar, early in Washington and in the quarter-finals in Montreal.

The Frenchman is playing well in Cincinnati to earn a return to the Top 20. He beat Yannick Hanfmann 7-6 6-1, Jiri Lehecka 6-1 6-7 6-3, Alex de Minaur 6-3 6-4 and Thiago Agustin Tirante 6-3 6-2, his serve broken only two times in that run.

Fils defeated Flavio Cobolli 6-3 6-4 in the semi-finals, getting it done in 67 minutes, saving 1/2 break points.

Tiafoe Into Second Cincinnati Final

Frances Tiafoe won the title in Halle before a 5 sets defeat to Alexander Bublik in the third round at Wimbledon.

The 28-year-old went out early in Washington before retiring in the third round in Montreal, taking some time off to get minor hand surgery.

The American has been enjoying the conditions in Cincinnati where he is a former finalist. He beat Lorenzo Sonego 6-3 6-4, Learner Tien 6-4 4-6 6-4, Felix Auger Aliassime 6-3 6-4 and Lorenzo Musetti 7-6 7-5, saving 5/11 break points.

Tiafoe saved three set points in the opener against Brandon Nakashima, coming through to win 7-5 6-3.
