Ruzic Looks for Winning Start

Antonia Ruzic wrapped up her grass season with disappointing results, playing four events and winning just one main-draw match, which came in the first round at Wimbledon.

The Croatian has yet to win multiple main-draw matches at tour level since March. Despite that, she remains at a career-high ranking of No. 50, thanks to her breakthrough results earlier this season, including the quarterfinals in Dubai, the semifinals in Hobart, and the third round at Indian Wells.

This will be her debut appearance in Prague. She heads into this match with a 7-8 record in first-round matches across all levels this season.

Salkova Eyes Strong Home Showing

Dominika Salkova qualified for the Prague main draw after defeating fellow Czechs Denisa Zoldakova and Gabriela Knutson in straight sets.

She has registered multiple main-draw wins only three times during the first seven months of the season, with all of those runs coming at WTA 125 events. Her best results include winning the title in Les Sables d'Olonne and reaching the quarterfinals in Modena and Parma.

This will be her fourth main-draw appearance in Prague. She has won her opening-round match in all three previous appearances and will look to continue that streak this week.
