This final brings together defending champion Luciano Darderi and former Bastad champion Andrey Rublev. While Darderi is a proven and consistent clay-court player, he has looked below his best throughout the week and has needed to work hard in each of his matches.

Rublev, meanwhile, has gradually improved as the tournament has progressed and enters the final with a slight edge based on the level he has produced.

Rublev Faces A Tough Final Test

  • Andrey Rublev holds a 6–5 career record in tour-level clay-court finals.
  • He is currently on a five-match losing streak against Top 20 players.
  • Luciano Darderi owns a 5–1 career record in tour-level finals.
  • He has a 3–4 record against Top 20 players in 2026.

Rublev Returns to the Bastad Final

Andrey Rublev moved into the final after defeating Alejandro Tabilo in three sets, 4-6, 6-3, 6-3. He fired 12 aces and converted three of his 13 break-point opportunities to complete the comeback victory.

This is Rublev's second ATP final in Bastad. He won the title here in 2023 after coming through a three-set semifinal against Francisco Cerundolo before defeating Casper Ruud in straight sets in the final. He will now look to repeat that success.

Rublev has already reached one ATP final this season, finishing runner-up to Arthur Fils in Barcelona. Despite missing out on the title, he has also recorded semifinal appearances, a quarterfinal run in Rome, and reached the fourth round at the French Open.

Overall, Rublev owns an 18-13 record in ATP Tour finals, including a 6-5 record on clay. He is chasing his first title since Doha last year.

Darderi Eyes Successful Bastad Title Defence

Luciano Darderi reached the Bastad final after defeating Daniel Adolfo Vallejo in three sets, 6-4, 6-7, 6-3. He held three match points to finish the contest in straight sets but was forced into a deciding set before sealing victory.

Darderi is now one win away from successfully defending his Bastad title. Last year, he defeated Francisco Cerundolo and Jesper de Jong in back-to-back three-set matches in the latter rounds before lifting the trophy.

This is Darderi's third ATP Tour final of the season. His previous two also came on clay, losing to Francisco Cerundolo in Buenos Aires before winning the Santiago title against Yannick Hanfmann.

The Italian has an impressive record in ATP Tour finals, winning five of his previous six. His only defeat came against top-20 player Francisco Cerundolo in Buenos Aires, and he now faces another top-20 opponent in Rublev.
