Petra Marcinko has enjoyed the stronger season overall, but her limited success on hard courts gives Alycia Parks the advantage in this clash.

Parks Seeks To Reignite Her Monterrey Momentum

  • Parks reached the semifinal in her only previous appearance at Monterrey in 2025.
  • She has lost nine of her last 12 matches against highly ranked players.
  • Marcinko has suffered a first-round exit in three of her last four events.
  • She has lost five of her last six matches against American opponents.

This will be their first meeting.

Parks Seeks a Way Back to Winning Form

Alycia Parks recently reached the quarterfinals in Athens but failed to build on that result in the following weeks, winning only one match across her next three events.

The American has played 25 events across all levels this year and registered multiple main-draw wins only three times, reaching the quarterfinals in Ostrava and Athens and the third round in Miami. These results highlight her struggles with form and consistency this season.

This is her second appearance in Monterrey. She reached the semifinal on her debut in 2025 and will be looking to defend those points and prevent a further slide in the rankings.

Marcinko Seeks a Fresh Start in Monterrey

Petra Marcinko has made significant progress on tour this year, winning her maiden tour-level title in Rabat and reaching the semifinal in Eastbourne and the quarterfinals in Iasi. These results helped her make her Top 50 debut last month.

This is a remarkable rise for the 20-year-old, who had never won multiple matches in a tour-level event before 2026 and won only two main-draw matches in her first nine events this year.

However, since suffering an injury during her Eastbourne semifinal, her level has dropped slightly, and she has suffered opening-round exits in three of her last four events.
