Castres have an excellent home record and have won their last three. I am backing them to defeat the defending Top 14 champions.

Key Stats - Castres Superb at Home

  • Castres have won 3 consecutive home fixtures.
  • Castres have won 6 of their last 7 home matches against Toulouse.
  • Toulouse have lost 3 of their last 4 away games.

Toulouse Lead

Toulouse lead 22-16 in 39 matches with one draw against Castres.

Castres a Different Beast at Home

Castres Olympique were poor in the first half against Clermont last weekend, failing to score any points to trail 17-0 at half-time.

Le CO could only score two penalties in the second half, losing 20-6 away to Clermont.
Before that result, Les Olympiens beat Vannes 29-20 at home and lost 43-29 away to Perpignan before edging Toulon 29-27 at home.

Les Bleu et Blanc are tenth in the French Rugby Championship standings with eight points after four matches.

Castres have had success at home this season, and boast a strong record against Toulouse in their own backyard in recent seasons, winning six of their last seven matches in front of their loyal fans.

Toulouse Inconsistent at the Season Start

Toulouse scored two converted tries and a penalty in the first half against Vannes last weekend to go into the break with a slender 17-16 lead.

Le Stade scored two tries and a conversion to their tally to come out on top against Vannes, winning 29-23 away from home.

Earlier this season, Les Rouge et Noir lost 30-27 away to La Rochelle, thumped Bordeaux 48-12 at home, and beat Vannes 29-23 away.

Le Stade are first in the French Rugby Championship table with 15 points from four games.

Toulouse have had a solid campaign so far, but they have lost three of their last four away matches recently, and they have struggled to beat Castres away from home in recent clashes.
