Leeds Rhinos vs Wigan Warriors Super League Round 26 Tips & Prediction

The League Leaders' Shield could effectively be decided at Headingley with Leeds and Wigan locked together on 40 points, and the Warriors are backed to extend their incredible winning streak.

Leeds have been excellent themselves, winning five of their last six and scoring 100 points across victories over York and St Helens. However, Wigan haven't lost since May and have now put together 13 consecutive Super League wins.

Wigan also dominated the first meeting between these sides, holding Leeds to just four points in a 24-4 victory.

Zach Eckersley is the tryscorer selection after crossing five times in his last five appearances.

  • Wigan have won 13 consecutive Super League matches.
  • Leeds have won five of their last six.
  • Wigan have conceded just 60 points across their last six games, an average of 10 per match.
  • Leeds have scored 100 points across their last two matches.
  • Wigan defeated Leeds 24-4 earlier this season.
  • Zach Eckersley has scored five tries in his last five games.

Leeds Rhinos Form Analysis

Leeds produced one of their strongest defensive performances of the season last week, beating St Helens 34-6 at the BrewDog Stadium. It followed a 66-16 demolition of York, meaning the Rhinos have scored 100 points and conceded only 22 across their last two games.

Leeds have now won five of their last six, scoring 228 points across that run at an average of 38 per game. Their only defeat was a 20-16 loss at home to Leigh.

The challenge is breaking down Wigan. Leeds managed just four points in their 24-4 defeat to the Warriors earlier this season, comfortably their lowest attacking return of the campaign against these two sides.

Wigan Warriors Form Analysis

Wigan extended their winning streak to 13 Super League matches with an emphatic 46-0 victory over Hull KR last week, recording another clean sheet before this top-of-the-table showdown.

The Warriors have been particularly impressive defensively. Across their last six games they have conceded only 60 points, an average of 10 per match, while scoring 210 themselves.

Wigan have won those six matches by an average margin of 25 points, with five of the six victories coming by 12+ points. They also have the psychological advantage of already beating Leeds 24-4 this season, showing they can shut down one of the competition's most productive attacks.

Leeds Rhinos vs Wigan Warriors Team News

Leeds welcome Maika Sivo back into their 21-man squad, although his involvement remains dependent on fitness. Danny Levi is ruled out.

Wigan have named another strong squad, with Junior Nsemba included despite his recent hamstring problem. French, Field, Harry Smith, Liam Marshall and Eckersley are all available.
