Gold Coast Titans vs Canterbury Bulldogs Preview

The in-form Gold Coast Titan Phillip Sami is backed in the tryscorer markets as a value option, but it is the Canterbury Bulldogs who are tipped to cover the short line.

  • Canterbury have won five of their past six games against the Titans.
  • Gold Coast have conceded 25.0 points per game across their last five games.
  • Canterbury rank third in run metres, while Gold Coast rank 15th defending run metres.
  • Phillip Sami has scored in his last four games and has cashed for us in two straight weeks.

Head to Head Stats

Canterbury have owned the recent head-to-head, winning four of the last five meetings and five of the past six overall.

Gold Coast Titans Form - Huge Titans Win

Gold Coast are coming off a huge win over Penrith, but they have still been a difficult team to trust week to week.

Tino Fa'asuamaleaui returning is a major boost through the middle and Chris Randall also comes back from concussion.

The Titans have enough attacking weapons to make this competitive, especially with Sami in try-scoring form.

The question is whether they can back up last week's emotional high, and at this number the answer is not convincing enough.

Canterbury Bulldogs Form - Golden Point Win

Canterbury got out of jail in golden point against Manly last week through Stephen Crichton's field goal, and Crichton remains at five-eighth with Matt Burton in the centres.

That setup is clearly something the Bulldogs want to keep exploring after it worked in Round 16.

The Bulldogs have averaged only 17.8 points across their last five, so the attack is still the concern.

The counter is that they are facing a Titans side that has been soft in the middle statistically, and Canterbury's run metres profile gives them a genuine field-position edge.
