Andy Murray remains on course for an historic medal at the Olympic Games in Tokyo.
Murray pulled out of the men’s singles tennis tournament earlier this week due to injury concerns.
He remains in the men’s doubles competition though, and he and Joe Salisbury are through to the quarter-finals.
Murray and Salisbury beat German pair Kevin Krawietz and Tim Putz 6-2 7-6 (7-2) in round two.
If Murray leaves Tokyo with a medal he will become the first man to win four Olympic tennis medals since the Games reintroduced the sport in 1988.
Murray won back-to-back singles gold medals in 2012 and 2016, making him the first male tennis player to achieve that feat.
He also took silver medal in the mixed doubles at the 2012 games, losing in the final just hours after beating Juan Martin Del Potro in a men’s singles final that went four sets.
