NFL Week 1 Best Bets & Predictions - 2026 Season Opener Edition
The wait is finally over - NFL is back and Week 1 already throws up some amazing matcups with a Super Bowl rematch to open the week and 49ers v Rams in Melbourne, Australia.
Dallas Cowboys @ New York Giants
Pick: Dak Prescott Under 254.5 Pass Yards
Dak Prescott has been terrible in season openers. He has gone Under 188 pass yards in 4 straight games to start a season and now comes up against a Giants defence led by John Harbaugh.
Dallas are still favoured to win the game so a Giants +2.5 and Prescott Under is a great value parlay.
San Francisco 49ers @ Los Angeles Rams
Pick: 49ers 1st Half Moneyline
These two teams will play the very first NFL game in Australia at Melbourne's MCG in front of over 100,000 fans. San Francisco have opted to fly in early and acclimatise to the time difference and surroundings while the Rams will arrive the day before and try to keep their body clocks on West Coast Time.
It is a massive call for the Rams to opt for this strategy and it seems its almost like they are prefering to more quickly acclimatise back to LA time once the game is over and they jump back on the plane to the US. Research suggests the travel and time difference affects a human body most over the first 24-48 hours which means San Fran have an advantage from the outset.
Green Bay Packers @ Minnesota Vikings
Pick: Green Bay +1.5
Minnesota have a strong defensive prescence and a great coaching staff but they enter this season with a new quarterback that is just average.
The Packers will be without star rusher Micah Parsons to start the season but their ability to produce points both on the ground and through the air should simply see them outscore the Vikings in a tight divisional matchup.
