Winnipeg Jets at Pittsburgh Penguins Betting Tips
Pittsburgh are backed to continue their strong start against Winnipeg, with Kyle Connor and Evgeni Malkin providing our two player prop selections.
Pittsburgh have come flying out offensively, scoring 18 goals across their opening three games, including seven against Philadelphia and six against Montreal and the Penguins also have an important scheduling advantage here.
Winnipeg beat Detroit 3-2 on Sunday and now travel straight to Pittsburgh for the second half of a road back-to-back, while the Penguins haven't played since Saturday so that makes Pittsburgh to win our main selection.
Kyle Connor Anytime Goalscorer
We're staying with a red-hot Kyle Connor to score despite backing Pittsburgh for the victory. Connor scored twice and added an assist against Detroit and has already found the net three times through Winnipeg's opening two games.
Winnipeg's power play has also started the season 4-for-7, with Connor heavily involved on the top unit.
There is some matchup history here too. Connor scored twice against Pittsburgh in a 5-2 Winnipeg victory last season.
Evgeni Malkin To Record A Point
Evgeni Malkin has wasted absolutely no time getting involved this season with the veteran netting two goals and two assists through Pittsburgh's first three games, giving him four points already.
With Pittsburgh scoring freely and facing a Winnipeg team playing for the second consecutive night, Malkin to record at least one point looks like the best Penguins player prop.
Winnipeg Jets Form
Winnipeg responded to their overtime defeat against Boston by beating Detroit 3-2. Connor was the star with two goals and an assist, while Cole Perfetti recorded three points and Josh Morrissey added two assists.
The power play was particularly impressive, scoring three times against Detroit and improving to 4-for-7 through the opening two games.
The concern tonight is the schedule, with the Jets travelling to Pittsburgh immediately after Sunday's game.
Pittsburgh Penguins Form
Pittsburgh have started the season 2-0-1 and their offence has immediately caught fire. The Penguins have scored 18 goals in three games, highlighted by a 7-0 win over Philadelphia and a wild 6-5 overtime victory against Montreal.
Malkin has been right in the middle of that production with four points, while Pittsburgh now have the benefit of a rest advantage against a Jets team playing on consecutive nights.
