Tuesday SHL Best Bets & Predictions - 3 Betting Tips for September 29
The SHL returns with three games on Tuesday, and we have picked out our best bet from each matchup. Brynäs and Skellefteå get favourable opportunities to produce offensively, while Björklöven's Robin Kovacs provides our player pick against a struggling HV71 defence.
Brynäs have scored 15 goals across their last two SHL games
HV71 conceded seven goals against Växjö on Saturday
Luleå have allowed 11 goals across their last two games
Here are our Tuesday SHL betting tips.
Brynäs IF vs Timrå IK Prediction
Bet: Brynäs Over 3.5 Team Goals
Brynäs have exploded offensively after starting their season with a 7-2 defeat against Skellefteå.
They responded by hammering Linköping 9-2 before scoring another four in Saturday's win against Luleå, giving them 15 goals across their last two games.
The performance against Luleå was particularly convincing, with Brynäs controlling the shot count 34-18.
Timrå have already allowed three goals against Linköping and five against Örebro this season, and this is a difficult time to run into a Brynäs attack finding its rhythm.
We're backing the hosts to reach at least three goals.
Björklöven vs HV71 Prediction
Bet: Robin Kovacs Anytime Goalscorer
We're going to the player market for our second selection, with Robin Kovacs making an impressive start to Björklöven's return to the SHL.
Kovacs has scored three goals through his opening three SHL appearances, putting him firmly among the early players to watch in the goalscorer markets.
The matchup only adds to the appeal.
HV71 conceded five goals against Malmö in their opener and three against Skellefteå before things got considerably worse on Saturday, when Växjö put seven past them.
With HV71 already showing serious defensive vulnerability and Kovacs starting the season in scoring form, we're backing the Björklöven forward to find the net again.
Skellefteå AIK vs Luleå Hockey Prediction
Bet: Skellefteå Over 2.5 Team Goals
Skellefteå were shut out by Örebro on Saturday, but we're backing their offence to respond at home against Luleå.
They certainly haven't struggled for goals throughout the opening stages of the season, scoring seven against Brynäs and three against HV71 before the Örebro defeat.
Luleå's defence has gone in the opposite direction.
After opening with a 4-2 win against Rögle, they conceded seven against Frölunda and another four against Brynäs. That's 11 goals allowed across their last two games.
Skellefteå still produced 24 shots despite failing to score against Örebro, and back on home ice, three goals looks an achievable target against this Luleå defence.
