Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod vs Ak Bars Kazan KHL 2026-27 Predictions & Betting Tips - Ak Bars to Edge Tight Contest

Ak Bars Kazan to win, Ak Bars to score first and Under 5.5 total goals are the best bets, with the visitors’ disciplined defensive start expected to contain a Torpedo attack coming off a seven-goal performance.

Ak Bars have won three of their opening four games, with their only defeat coming against Metallurg Magnitogorsk in a shootout. They led that contest until the final nine seconds of regulation and have conceded only seven goals all season.

The first-goal market is particularly appealing. Ak Bars have opened the scoring in all four games, including Semyon Terekhov’s goal just 20 seconds into the Metallurg matchup. Torpedo have scored first in only two of four and trailed Lada despite eventually winning 7-2.

Torpedo’s latest result makes Under 5.5 the riskier selection, but five of the teams’ eight combined games have stayed below the line. Ak Bars have produced three consecutive totals of five goals or fewer, while their preference for structured five-on-five hockey should prevent Torpedo from playing such an open game.

  • Ak Bars have opened the scoring in all four games this season.
  • Ak Bars have won three of four, with their only loss coming in a shootout.
  • Three consecutive Ak Bars games have stayed Under 5.5 goals.
  • Five of the teams’ eight combined games have finished below 5.5.

Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod Form

Torpedo have won three of their opening four games, beating Spartak Moscow 1-0, Dinamo Minsk 4-3 in a shootout and Lada Togliatti 7-2. Their only defeat was a 3-0 shutout against CSKA Moscow.

Daniil Seroukh scored a hat-trick against Lada, while Vladimir Tkachev contributed one goal and two assists and Egor Vinogradov supplied three assists. That first line drove a remarkable turnaround after Torpedo had been outshot 12-3 and trailed 1-0 following the opening period.

Mikhail Vorobyov started the recovery before Viktor Fyodorov, Seroukh and Robert Nardella pushed Torpedo into a 4-1 lead. The performance demonstrated their scoring ceiling, but it also showed how vulnerable they can be before establishing their forecheck. Official KHL match report

Ak Bars Kazan Form

Ak Bars opened with victories over Sibir Novosibirsk, Admiral Vladivostok and Traktor Chelyabinsk before taking a point from their 3-2 shootout defeat against Metallurg.

Kirill Semyonov has been involved in the attack throughout the opening week, collecting seven points across four games. Terekhov has scored three times, while Artem Galimov put Ak Bars 2-1 ahead against Metallurg before Dmitry Silantyev equalised with nine seconds remaining.

Timur Bilyalov produced several important saves against Metallurg as Ak Bars defended sustained second-period pressure. Their five-on-five play was also praised by head coach Anvar Gatiyatulín, although he acknowledged that the newly assembled power-play units still require improvement.
