Frölunda vs Färjestad SHL 2026-27 Predictions & Betting Tips - Goals on the Menu

Goals are the focus when Frölunda host Färjestad on Tuesday, with Over 5.5 our main bet after the two teams combined for 12 goals on the opening weekend of the SHL season.

Frölunda opened with a 5-4 victory over Växjö, while Färjestad were even more emphatic in a 7-0 win against Örebro. It wasn't simply a couple of players doing the damage either, with the 12 goals spread across 12 different goalscorers.

That scoring depth makes both teams to score 2+ goals another attractive option. Frölunda had five different players find the net against Växjö, while Färjestad produced seven different goalscorers in their opener.

There could also be early action. Frölunda scored after only 53 seconds against Växjö and the teams went to the first intermission at 1-1. Färjestad were even quicker out of the blocks, putting four past Örebro in the opening period. Both teams to score in the first period is our more aggressive third selection.

For a player angle, Patrik Puistola anytime goalscorer stands out after an excellent opening performance for Frölunda. Puistola scored the game-winner and added two assists against Växjö, immediately putting himself among the players to watch in this Frölunda attack.

  • Frölunda's 5-4 win against Växjö produced nine total goals.
  • Färjestad scored seven unanswered goals against Örebro and led 4-0 after the opening period.
  • Frölunda had five different goalscorers on Saturday, while Färjestad had seven.
  • Puistola recorded one goal and two assists, including Frölunda's late game-winner.

Frölunda Form

Frölunda had to work for their opening three points, eventually beating Växjö 5-4 at Scandinavium after a game that swung several times.

Graeme Clarke needed just 53 seconds to open the scoring before Växjö equalised later in the first period. Samuel Johannesson and Samuel Fagemo struck in the second, while Henrik Tömmernes and Puistola scored late in the third to turn a 4-3 deficit into a 5-4 victory.

Puistola was particularly impressive. The Finnish forward assisted Frölunda's opening two goals before scoring the winner with 3:46 remaining, finishing his first SHL appearance of the season with three points.

Färjestad Form

Färjestad could hardly have made a stronger start to their SHL campaign, thrashing Örebro 7-0.

The damage was done early. Färjestad scored four times in the first period and finished the game with 38 shots, providing plenty of attacking pressure alongside the seven-goal scoreline.

The goals were remarkably well distributed. Radim Zohorna, Viktor Lodin, Axel Bergkvist, Per Åslund, Jack Berglund, Marcus Johansson and Victor Ejdsell all scored, while Bergkvist and Lodin finished with three points apiece and Filip Roos collected three assists.
