Simon and Ed Crisford have confirmed unbeaten Sioux Nation filly
Lex Victoria in the field. The consistent
Scommessa Sicura will run for Andrew Balding, but has seven lengths to find with Musical Times from their meeting at Doncaster.
2026 Fillies' Mile Tips
I'm fully expecting Musical Times to win. Charlie Appleby's filly was wildly impressive at Doncaster and his record at this time of the year, especially at Newmarket, is exceptional.
There is, however, some value to be found in the each-way market. LEX VICTORIA (16/1) has won both of her starts so far, and there's a good chance she'll improve again for this step up in grade.
Simon Crisford's filly was forced to make the running on debut at Newmarket. The field bunched up behind Lex Victoria with two furlongs to travel, but she and Thi Qar pulled clear in a matter of strides, and Crisford's filly came out on top in a head-bobbing finish.
Lex Victoria seemed much more comfortable when given a lead on her second outing at Kempton. James Doyle's mount, who was carrying a seven-pound penalty, tracked the leader comfortably before showing a nice turn of foot to open up a clear lead, eventually crossing the line almost five lengths clear of the staying-on Pink Larkspur.
Both starts came in novice company, so Lex Victoria has plenty to find on her rivals in terms of form. However, Thi Qar and Pink Larkspur have won maidens since and look to be Pattern-quality performers. Doyle will be happy with his draw in stall six, given that the Ballydoyle pacemaker Exceptionally is drawn next to him in seven. I'm excited to see what Lex Victoria will produce on her Group One debut this Friday.
