A competitive line-up of the world's best golfers will compete for the Irish Open at the Trump International Golf Links Doonbeg for the first time this weekend. Who will emerge victorious in Ireland come Sunday?

Rory McIlroy is back to defend his title after a play-off victory over Joakim Lagergren in 2025.

Past Major winners in the lineup include Rory McIlroy, Jon Rahm, Shane Lowry, Brooks Koepka, Patrick Reed, Sergio Garcia, Padraig Harrington, Francesco Molinari, and Danny Willett.

These are our four selections that could win the title this weekend.

Rory McIlroy

Rory McIlroy has been performing well in his last five starts on the PGA Tour, placing T7 at the Genesis Scottish Open, T40 at the Open Championship, 66th at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, 3rd at the BMW Championship, and T4 at the Tour Championship.

Other noteworthy results achieved by McIlroy in 2026 include a T14 at the Crown Australian Open, a T3 at the Dubai Invitational, T14 at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, a T2 at the Genesis Invitational, a victory at the Masters, a T19 at the Truist Championship, a T7 at the PGA Championship, and a T12 at the Memorial Tournament.

The six-time Major winner has compiled an impressive record in his last seven appearances at the Amgen Irish Open, with results of a victory in 2016, MC in 2017, T28 in 2018, T59 in 2021, T16 in 2023, T2 in 2024, and a victory in 2025.

McIlroy has done nothing wrong lately and can lift the trophy at the Trump International Golf Links Doonbeg come Sunday.

Robert MacIntyre

Robert MacIntyre has been in solid form on the PGA Tour since the end of June, placing T10 at the Travelers Championship, T3 at the Genesis Scottish Open, T28 at the Open Championship, W/D at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, T7 at the BMW Championship, and 28th at the Tour Championship.

Other prominent performances achieved by MacIntyre this season include a T20 at the Genesis Invitational, T24 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, 4th at the Players Championship, T2 at the Valero Texas Open, and T15 at the RNC Canadian Open.

The three-time DP World Tour winner has featured three times at the Amgen Irish Open, finishing T41 in 2019, T13 in 2022, and T5 in 2024.

MacIntyre has the form to go all the way and win the title in Ireland this weekend.

Oliver Lindell

Oliver Lindell has been in great shape on the DP World Tour since the beginning of June, placing 2nd at the KLM Open, T6 at the Italian Open, T13 at the BMW International Open, T36 at the Genesis Scottish Open, T9 at the Danish Golf Championship, and T2 at the recent British Masters.
