Thirty-two of the world's best golfers team up to contest the third edition of the Grant Thornton Invitational at the Tiburon Golf Club. Which mixed pairing will win in Florida this weekend?

Jake Knapp and Patty Tavatanakit are back to defend their title after a one-stroke victory over Tom Kim and Atthaya Thitikul in 2024.

These are the four teams who could win the tournament this weekend.

Corey Conners & Brooke Henderson

Corey Conners has achieved some solid results on the PGA Tour and DP World Tour during the latter half of the year, placing T10 at the Open Championship, T50 at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, MC at the BMW Championship, T70 at the Open de France, and T7 at the Hero World Challenge last weekend.

Brooke Henderson has found form during the latter stages of her season on the LPGA Tour, recording a T23 at the Portland Classic, a victory at the CPKC Women's Open, a T15 at the FM Championship, a T28 at the Lotte Championship, a T19 at the Ladies BMW Championship, a T27 at the Maybank Championship, a T26 at the Annika Driven, and a T7 at the CME Group Tour Championship in eight starts.

Conners and Henderson placed 2nd in 2023 and T4 at the Grant Thornton Invitational last year.

Denny McCarthy & Nelly Korda

Denny McCarthy has been in decent nick on the PGA Tour lately, placing T12 at the Travelers Championship, T11 at the John Deere Classic, MC at the Genesis Scottish Open, MC at the Open Championship, T11 at the Wyndham Championship, T32 at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, T28 at the BMW Championship, and T51 at the RSM Classic.

Nelly Korda has been in excellent touch recently, placing 5th at the Women's Scottish Open, T36 at the AIG Women's Open, T10 at the CPKC Women's Open, T35 at the FM Championship, T5 at the Kroger Queen City Championship, T4 at the Lotte Championship, T15 at the Annika Driven, and 3rd at the CME Group Tour Championship.

McCarthy and Korda play for the first time as a team at the Grant Thornton Invitational this weekend.

Daniel Berger & Charley Hull

Daniel Berger has not been at his best on the PGA Tour in recent months, finishing T46 at the U.S. Open, T42 at the Travelers Championship, T55 at the Genesis Scottish Open, T30 at the Open Championship, T68 at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, WD at the BMW Championship, and T51 at the RSM Classic.

Charley Hull has been in great touch on the LPGA Tour lately, placing 4th at the Women's Irish Open, T21 at the Women's Scottish Open, T2 at the AIG Women's Open, T2 at the Aramco Houston Open, a victory at the Kroger Queen City Championship, T14 at the Lotte Championship, T4 at the Annika Driven, and T19 at the CME Group Tour Championship.

Berger and Hull will contest the Grant Thornton Invitational for the first time as a team this year.

Andrew Novak & Lauren Coughlin

Andrew Novak has been thereabouts on the PGA Tour lately, placing T6 at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, 48th at the BMW Championship, T25 at the Tour Championship, T7 at the RSM Classic, and 17th at the Hero World Challenge.

Lauren Coughlin has produced steady results recently, placing T10 at the Women's Scottish Open, T13 at the AIG Women's Open, T7 at the Portland Classic, MC at the CPKC Women's Open, T53 at the FM Championship, 50th at the Ladies BMW Championship, T21 at the Annika Driven, and T47 at the CME Group Tour Championship.

Novak and Coughlin team up for the first time at this edition of the Grant Thornton Invitational.

The Format

The Grant Thornton Invitational is contested from Friday to Sunday and comprises two golfers per team.

Friday - Round one is the Scramble format. Each golfer drives off the tee, and then the team decides on the best shot of the two. Both players will then play their second shot from this position and so forth until the completion of the hole.

Saturday - Round two is the Foursome (Alternate Shot) format. Players rotate tee shots (one player will tee off on even-numbered holes and the other on odd-numbered holes) and strokes with the same ball until the ball is holed.

Sunday - Round three is the Modified Four-Ball format. Both players tee off and then switch balls for their second shots, and play that same ball until it is holed. The lower score of the pairing is counted as the team score for the hole.
