Royal Porthcawl will host the Women's Open for the first time in its history, where a stellar line-up of the world's elite women's golfers will be vying for victory at the final Major of the season. Who will walk away with the honours come Sunday?

Lydia Ko is back to defend her title after a two-stroke victory over Nelly Korda, Jiyai Shin, Lilia Vu, and Ruoning Yin in 2024.

These are our selections that could win the title this weekend.

Jeeno Thitikul

Jeeno Thitikul started her year superbly, winning the PIF Saudi Ladies International and placing 3rd at the Honda LPGA Thailand and T2 at the HSBC Women's World Championship.

Thitikul has maintained her fine form since those performances, recording a T12 finish at the Blue Bay LPGA, 4th at the Ford Championship, T5 at the T-Mobile Match Play, T9 at the JM Eagle LA Championship, a win at the Mizuho Americas Open, a missed cut at the U.S. Women's Open, T11 at the Shoprite LPGA Classic, and a second-place finish at the Amundi Evian Championship.

The number two-ranked golfer has made four appearances at the Women's Open, finishing T48 in 2021, T7 in 2022, T36 in 2023, and T17 in 2024.

Jeeno Thitikul comes into the final Major of the year in outstanding form and has claims for the title at Royal Porthcawl this weekend.

Angel Yin

Angel Yin made a strong start to her season, finishing T18 at the Hilton Grand Tournament of Champions, 10th at the Founders Cup, securing victory at the Honda LPGA Thailand, withdrawing from the HSBC Women's World Championship, placing T13 at the Ford Championship, and T3 at the T-Mobile Match Play.

Angel Yin has continued to deliver steady performances since then, finishing T37 at the JM Eagle LA Championship, 13th at the Chevron Championship, MC at the Mizuho Americas Open, T9 at the U.S. Women's Open, T19 at the KPMG Women's PGA Championship, and T5 at the Amundi Evian Championship.

The world's 6th-ranked player has featured nine times at the Women's Open, with results of MC in 2016, T11 in 2017, MC in 2018, T35 in 2019, T59 in 2020, T34 in 2021, MC in 2022, T6 in 2023, and T10 in 2024.

Angel Yin has performed well in her previous two starts at this tournament and can win the title in Wales this weekend.

Ariya Jutanugarn

Ariya Jutanugarn made a mixed start to her season on the LPGA Tour, finishing T48 at the Founders Cup, T4 at the PIF Saudi Ladies International, T14 at the Honda LPGA Thailand, 38th at the HSBC Women's World Championship, and MC at the Ford Championship.

However, Ariya Jutanugarn has been in better shape lately, placing T3 at the T-Mobile Match Play, T2 at the Chevron Championship, T6 at the Black Desert Championship, T9 at the U.S. Women's Open, T52 at the KPMG Women's PGA Championship, T7 at the Amundi Evian Championship, and T8 at the ISPS Handa Scottish Open last weekend.

The two-time Major winner has competed at the Women's Open 11 times, with results of T45 in 2014, MC in 2015, victory in 2016, MC in 2017, T4 in 2018, T11 in 2019, T22 in 2020, T10 in 2021, T28 in 2022, MC in 2023, and 6th in 2024.

Ariya Jutanugarn will look to go all the way at Royal Porthcawl after recording six top-ten results in seven outings.

Hye-Jin Choi

Hye-Jin Choi was in decent nick at the start of 2025 on the LPGA Tour, finishing T26 at the Honda LPGA Thailand, T11 at the HSBC Women's World Championship, T17 at the Ford Championship, T35 at the T-Mobile Match Play, and MC at the JM Eagle LA Championship.

Hye-Jin Choi has kicked on since those results, placing T9 at the Chevron Championship, T12 at the Black Desert Championship, T33 at the Mizuho Americas Open, T4 at the Mexico River Maya Open, T4 at the U.S. Women's Open, 2nd at the Meijr LPGA Classic, T8 at the KPMG Women's PGA Championship, T18 at the Lotte Open, T14 at the Amundi Evian Championship, and T10 at the ISPS Handa Scottish Open last weekend.

Hye-Jin Choi has yet to make an impact at the Women's Open, with results of MC in 2018, MC in 2019, T28 in 2022, T66 in 2023, and T37 in 2024.

Hye-Jin Choi has played well in the Majors this season and could cause an upset in Wales this weekend.
