USA vs Canada Tips & Live Stream – USA Backed to Win in Saint Paul

This is more than a friendly match considering the rivalry between these two nations. I believe the USA have a deeper roster, while home court advantage should also make the difference.

Key Stats

  • USA have won 7 of their last 10 matches.
  • Canada have lost 2 of their last 5 matches.

Stars and Stripes Lead H2H

These two rivals locked horns 45 times so far and the United States have a 19-15 advantage in terms of victories.

Red-Hot USA

After their disappointing exit at the World Cup 2026 in the Round of 16, USA played three friendly games and won on all three occasions.

This positive run started with a 4-1 victory against Peru in Orlando in late September, followed by a 4-2 win against Chile. Julian Hall and Sebastian Berhalter appeared on the scoresheet on both occasions.

The Stars and Stripes made it three in a row last weekend, taking down Mexico 3-0 in Glendale. Hall broke the deadlock early, while Cavan Sullivan and Malik Tillman found the net in the second half.

Canada Looking Solid After the WC

Like their upcoming opponents, Canada were also eliminated at the WC 2026 Round of 16, then were victorious in recent international friendlies.

Jesse March's side gained an early lead against Chile last week through Jonathan David, then missed a lot of chances to make this victory more convincing after the opposition had two players sent off (won 1-0).

Les Rogues had another strong first half against Peru last weekend, Jacob Shaffelburg scoring a brace after 35 minutes to secure a 2-0 victory in Montreal.

Team News & Predicted Lineups

USA (4-2-3-1) Brian Schwake; Alex Freeman, George Campbell, Antonee Robinson, Tyler Miller; Sebastian Berhalter, Yunus Musah; Giovanni Reyna, Cavan Sullivan, Malik Tillman; Julian Hall

Cole Campbell is likely to make his debut appearance for the national team. Mauricio Pochettino left out his star players like Christian Pulisic and Folarin Balogun for these friendlies.

Canada (4-4-2) James Pantemis; Niko Sigur, Luc De Fougerolles, Jamie Knight-Lebel, Luca Petrasso; Tajon Buchanan, Stephen Eustaquio, Mathieu Choiniere, Jacob Shaffelburg; Jonathan David, Cyle Larin

Jonathan David is the leading scorer with 43 goals in his 84 appearances for the national team. Derek Cornelius was out of contention due to an injury.
