Tanzania Keen to Build AFCON Reputation
Tanzania appear to be building an AFCON reputation, having featured in three of the last four editions. They reached the round of 16 in the 2025 tournament before suffering a 1-0 defeat to Morocco.
Beyond the AFCON, Tanzania's overall form has been unconvincing lately, failing to win nine of their last 10 matches in all competitions. However, the only win for Miguel Angel Gamondi's team was in their last outing, a 6-0 victory over Macau in a FIFA Series clash in March.
The result against Macau appears to be an outlier for Tanzania, who have struggled in attack lately and have failed to score in two of their last three matches. They have been involved in some low-scoring encounters lately, with four of their last five fixtures producing under 2.5 goals.
Guinea-Bissau Targeting AFCON Return
Guinea-Bissau are targeting a return to the AFCON after failing to qualify for the 2025 edition. They played in the previous four editions, failing to progress beyond the group stage.
The Djurtus head into this campaign in poor form, having picked up just one win from their last 10 matches in all competitions. Their last was a friendly back in March as they played out a 1-1 draw with Burkina Faso.
Like the hosts, Guinea-Bissau have also struggled in attack lately, failing to score in three of their last four matches in all competitions. Seven of the last eight matches for Emiliano Te’s team have also produced under 2.5 goals.
