Colombia have been very dangerous in their last two clashes, registering 44 shots total against Ghana and Portugal. All of Switzerland’s group stage matches have seen BTTS, so this is the best bet here in my opinion.

Key Stats

  • Switzerland have seen BTTS in 5 of their last 6 matches.
  • Switzerland have seen BTTS in 2 of their last 3 matches against Colombia.
  • Colombia have scored in 9 of their last 10 matches.

Colombia Edge H2H

This is going to be the fifth head to head match between these two sides. Colombia hold a minimal 2-1 advantage in terms of victories.

Swiss Still Unbeaten

Switzerland kicked off their World Cup 2026 campaign with a disappointing 1-1 draw against Qatar where they wasted a lot of chances and conceded in stoppage time, but then bounced back with a 4-1 win over Bosnia & Herzegovina where Johan Manzambi starred by netting a brace.

Murat Yakin’s side secured first placed in Group B by defeating Canada 2-1 in the final round. Manzambi once again played key role, bagging one goal and providing an assist for Ruben Vargas.

The Red Crosses left great impression in the Round of 32 clash against Algeria, taking a 2-0 victory. Breel Embolo broke the deadlock ten minutes in on Manzembi’s assist, while Dan Ndoye finished the job right after the break.

Colombia's Offense Look Deadly

Colombia looked impressive in the group stages, kicking off the tournament with back to back victories against Uzbekistan 3-1 and DR Congo 1-0 to clinch the playoffs early.

Battle for first place in Group K was against Portugal where the South American side dominated pitch, fired 24 shots and had 1.70 xG but couldn’t score, the match ending in a goalless draw (enough for 1st place).

In the Round of 32, Los Cafeteros claimed a well-deserved 1-0 win over Ghana but once again missed a lot of great goal opportunities (20 shots total). Jhon Arias was the sole scorer in the 13th minute on Luis Suarez’s assist.

Team News & Predicted Lineups

Switzerland (4-2-3-1) Gregor Kobel; Denis Zakaria, Manuel Akanji, Nico Elvedi, Ricardo Rodriguez; Remo Freuler, Granit Xhaka; Dan Ndoye, Johan Manzambi, Ruben Vargas; Breel Embolo

Luca Jaquez is the only potential absentee for Switzerland, picking up a knock and has a small chance to start on bench.

Colombia (4-3-3) Camilo Vargas; Daniel Munoz, Davinson Sanchez, Jhon Lucumi, Johan Mojica; Gustavo Puerta, Jhon Arias, Jefferson Lerma; James Rodriguez, Luis Suarez, Luis Diaz

The South American team have to cope without forward Jhon Cordoba, who remains completely ruled out of this clash after suffering an early injury against Ghana. Sporting Lisbon's star striker Luis Suarez is expected to start.
