Ross County vs Dundee Predictions

Ross County host Dundee in a vital League Cup contest in Dingwall on Tuesday evening.

Both teams have made strong starts to their campaign, and a competitive and likely entertaining encounter is expected.

With both sides in form, I expect BTTS to land, while I also have a stake on BTTS/Over 2.5 goals.

Goals Likely in Dingwall

  • Ross County have seen BTTS & over 2.5 goals in their last 4 matches
  • Ross County have seen BTTS in their last 2 matches against Dundee
  • Dundee have seen BTTS in 6 of their last 8 matches (competitive fixtures)
  • Dundee have seen over 2.5 goals in 8 of their last 10 matches

Ross County Hold H2H Edge

Dundee and Ross County will meet for the 43rd time on Tuesday. Ross County won 21 of 42 previous encounters. The Dark Blues claimed 12 victories.

Ross County Make Strong Start

Ross County come into Tuesday’s League Cup contest in high spirits after a 3-1 win against Clyde last weekend. Brian Graham bagged a brace as the Staggies eased to victory at Victoria Park.

Stuart Kettlewell's side have made a positive start to their League Cup campaign. County opened Group D with an impressive 4-1 victory away to Annan Athletic before last weekend’s win in Dingwall.

Following their relegation to the Championship, the Staggies have enjoyed a strong pre-season campaign, winning four of five warm-up fixtures.

Impressive in front of goal, County scored 26 goals while remaining unbeaten from seven games played this summer. Highlight victories included a 6-3 win against Premiership opponents Aberdeen and a 4-0 win at Inverness CT.

High-scoring outcomes have been a recurring theme for Kettlewell’s side. BTTS and over 2.5 goals landed in seven of their last ten games since the end of last season.

Dundee Slip-Up Against Everton

Dundee make the trip north looking to bounce back from a harsh 4-0 home defeat against Premier League opponents Everton last weekend.

A strong Toffee’s side eased to victory at Dens Park, with Beto and Thierno Barry among the goals on Saturday.

The Dark Blues have made a strong start to their Group D campaign. Dundee began their season with an entertaining 4-2 victory against Airdrie at Dens Park, before a thumping 5-0 win at Annan Athletic.

Charlie Reilly has been the standout performer for Tony Docherty’s side. The 24-year-old has five goal contributions (three goals, two assists) in his two League Cup appearances this summer.

Like the home side, high-scoring outcomes have been frequent for the Dark Blues. An average of 3.7 goals pèr game were scored in their last ten fixtures.

Ross County vs Dundee Team News

Ross County: (3-4-2-1) Bradley Foster; Akil Wright, Lewis Reid, Dylan Smith; Richard Chin, Jamie Lindsay, Ross Docherty, Lewis Strapp; Jack Turner, Adam Emslie; Brian Graham.

Head coach Kettlewell is likely to stick with much of the same side that eased past Clyde.

Luke McCarvel and Dean Cornelius are in contention to come into the side should the County boss opt to freshen his selection.

Dundee: (4-3-3) Harrison Sharp; Christiaan Oosenbrugh, Ryan Astley, Aaron Donnelly, Idris Odutayo; Finlay Robertson, Ethan Hamilton, Zan Besir; Callum Jones, Joe Westley, Charlie Reilly.

Dundee boss Docherty is likely to make some changes to the side that slipped to defeat against Everton last weekend.

Finlay Robertson, Ryan Astley, Harrison Sharp and Callum Jones are among those likely to earn recalls to the starting XI after second-half substitute appearances on Saturday.
